Evaluation Of Leadership In Enhancing Lecturer Performance In Riau Province

Private colleges are currently expected to be on par with state colleges. As a result, the importance of leadership from higher education leaders in improving their quality. One of them is to improve the performance of lecturers. Increasing the performance of lecturers is inextricably linked to the role of higher education leaders in developing learning activities. However, empirically, there are still higher education leaders who have not been able to have an impact on improving the quality of private colleges in Riau Province. The purpose of this research is to evaluate the relation between leadership and lecturer performance in tertiary institutions. By selecting Riau Province and involving all existing private universities, a total sample size of 221 was obtained. The study used a quantitative approach with simple regression, which was processed with the SPSS version 23 application. The study's findings indicate that leadership has an impact on lecturer performance. As per the research, leaders of private universities should strive to improve lecturers' maturity, provide guidance, improve lecturer performance, and be more active in introducing education, research, and community service.
