Abstract

Child labor is a problem that exists worldwide, especially in Indonesia. Because work takes up a portion of the day, children who work have a higher chance of dropping out of school. Child labor in Indonesia reached 10.22 percent in February 2021, (BPS, 2021). In order to understand the factors that affect school engagement in child labor, this research was conducted. Binary logistic regression analysis and descriptive analysis in the form of graphs and tables are both used. The results of binary logistic regression analysis reveal that the occupation of the head of the household, the age of the head of the household, the level of education of the head of the household, the area of residence, the poverty status of the household, and the age of the child are the variables that have a significant impact on school participation in child labor in Indonesia.
